Because Holy Family is committed to improving student achievement, we are concerned when a child arrives late to school.

Frequent lates have been an upward trend here at Holy Family, and these 'lates' affect your child’s learning opportunities.

Being late to class also disrupts the class. It also shows a lack of respect for our teachers and classmates. When we disrupt the class, we make it difficult for our teacher to teach and for our classmates to learn. Nobody has a right to prevent others from learning.

As a Board, we are responsible, under the Education Act of Ontario, to ensure that children between the ages of 6 and 18 attend school on time and regularly.

The school bell rings at 8:30.  If your child is not in the schoolyard when the bell rings they are considered late and must be signed in at the office by a parent/guardian.

If your child arrives late to school we will retain them at the office and will contact you to come to the school and sign them in before they are allowed access to their class.

For the benefit of your child’s success, we thank you in advance for your support in this matter.
