In order to promote the safety of students at Holy Family Catholic School, we have developed and implemented a plan to ensure the safe arrival and play of all children. Parents and school staff have a vital role in this process. Children are to be dropped off at the stairs located to the west of the main doors to the school. A staff member will greet them, and students in Grades 1-5 will make their way to the lower yard. Students in JK/SK will be escorted down the walkway by Grade 6 students, who act as buddies for these students. They take them to the lower yard where they are once again greeted by staff and begin their day on the paved play area only. The children play on the field and pavement area to the north and east of the school during the school day. Staff member supervises all children on the yard, followed by a staff member on bus the lane who ensures that all children are in the yard. In instances such as poor road conditions and the late arrival of buses, children are not to disembark until a staff member is present.  School procedures have been put in place to ensure the safety of our children. We will continue to look to ways to improve and promote the safety of our students at Holy Family Catholic School.
