IMPORTANT - UPDATED PROVINCIAL POLICY RE: SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

posted Sep 6, 2018, 9:43 AM by Tania Gonsalves   [ updated Sep 6, 2018, 9:56 AM ]

IMPORTANT - Updated provincial policy regarding school volunteers.

As you know, volunteers are the backbone of our school. We are blessed to have a vibrant school council who coordinate many of the volunteer activities at our school.  Volunteers are also an integral part of supporting teachers in the classroom, working one-on-one with students, helping on field trips and helping out on special days.

Effective immediately - September 2018, volunteers in the OCSB must complete a vulnerable sector police records check.  This includes ALL parents and volunteers working in all capacities in the school, including taking part in field trips, those working with students in school, and those volunteering at events including handing out hot lunches etc.

New Transportation Information for SPH

If your son/daughter is going to be going to St. Pat's High School in the fall and is going to be bussed, please be aware that they will be receiving Presto cards as they will travel on OC Transpo (even for grades 7/8), NOT yellow school buses. Also, please be aware that receiving transportation currently at St. Pat's Intermediate does not guarantee that you will receive transportation to St. Pat's High School (because you may live close enough to St. Pat's High School). To see if you will receive a Presto card and transportation, please study the following map (if you live within the boundaries outlined you will NOT receive transportation):

Summer Registration

posted Jun 29, 2018, 9:21 AM by Jill Hnatyshyn

Do you know someone who still needs to register their child for Kindergarten? Good news! Our Summer Registration Centre will be open all summer to help families register for any Ottawa Catholic elementary school, or Frank Ryan Catholic Intermediate School.

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) Summer Registration Centre is located at our Board office (570 West Hunt Club Road) and will be open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from July 3 to August 24 through the “Boardroom Entrance.”

To register for an OCSB high school, parents are invited to call the high school main office to make an appointment. You can find the school contact information at ocsb.ca/schools. Newcomers whose home language is not English should contact the Family Welcome Centre at 613-233-5670.

If you have any further questions, visit ocsb.ca/register or contact our summer registration line at 613-224-3171.
